QR Chapter 6
This chapter was about how students become bored in the classroom and how to motivate them so that they will want to do better. Several key factors will motivate students: passionate teachers, issues students care about, connections to the real world, and choices on things that matter such as what they learn or how involved they are. Homework can unmotivate students if it doesn't help them learn what they need or if the student is already confused about the content. It is not necessary every night in order to make sure that the students understand; it should only be given to back up what the teacher has gone over in class. One way homework can motivate students is if they are allowed to choose their own homework, such as which chapter to read, which book from a list, or a type of project. If the student has more say in their homework, they will be more motivated to get it done properly and in on time.
